Mike has 15+ years experience in the fitness industry in various roles. Running and spinning are his favourite fitness disciplines and he is looking forward to meeting new clients as well as seeing some familiar faces.

Sally’s journey to yoga began 15 years ago when she made it a mission to seek out a practice that would help with the craziness of such a fast paced life!

After just one session she was hooked and couldn’t believe the sense of peace and tranquillity that could be created in only 1 hour of asana practice.

She has continued on a journey of self discovery both physically and mentally and completed her 250 hour YTT in 2020.

Over the last 20 years I have had osteoarthritis in both hips due to being born without hip sockets and as it got worse I was on crutches for over 15 years and struggle to even walk properly. I was advised to try and keep active but told by various leisure centres the only activity I was allowed to do was water based. For 8 years I did the aqua jogging classes 3/4 times a week but unfortunately didn’t feel any progress and still felt very unsteady and fell so many times during the week.

As I got worse I made the decision to finish work for a year and get new sockets and hip replacements.
March 2017 I had the right side done and September left side. I needed to get off crutches and try to get back to some normality. My goal was to be able to fasten my shoe laces and be able to put on socks which is something Iv never been able to do. For another couple of years I went back to water fitness however I walked like a penguin, still fell and had such limited movement with my legs. I had no more flexibility and was really getting me down as I wasn’t able to go upstairs without handles and sometimes needed help despite now being off crutches.

Lockdown 2020 came and changed my work pattern which gave me some time to try and go for short walks which made me feel so much better. Once I returned to work I decided I wanted some help with exercise and needed someone with the knowledge to help guide me in the right direction.

After searching locally I found Emily, I read what she had achieved at university and A levels and her passion for health and fitness and decided to go and meet her.
It was the best decision I ever made, her enthusiasm for health and fitness put me at ease straight away. I explained my situation and she recommended personal training to begin with to assess my fitness level and then I started trying classes such as TRX and spin with Emily’s guidance throughout.

I started slowly, my coordination must have really challenged Emily but not once did she make me feel like I was in the way or taking too long to pick things up. She was just so helpful and always reassuring me the focus was technique first and everything else would come later.

Joining Emily has been the best decision I have ever made, the personal training has been so important in my progress as everything we do is just for my personal circumstances. I now have so much more mobility and flexibility. I feel like I am nearly normal when walking and can climb stairs without struggling. It has made such a huge difference in my day to day life.

Everyone has noticed a difference in my walking, especially after seeing my family after Covid they saw a huge difference. I am now able to go for long walks without worrying and have so much more confidence. I now never fall either and have achieved my goal of being able to tie my shoes!!!
